At the talks, General Giang spoke highly of the visit by the Commander-in-Chief of the Myanmar Armed Forces, stressing that it will contribute to fostering the traditional friendship between the two countries in general and the two militaries in particular. Also, the two senior defense leaders highlighted that the bilateral defense ties have increasingly improved with practical outcomes over the past time, especially in delegation exchange, and foreign language and medical personnel training that falls within the bilateral cooperation agreement reached by the two defense ministries in November 2011. They agreed to continue implementing the signed agreement comprehensively, while improving the effectiveness of the working groups and accelerating preparations towards the first Defense Policy Dialogue between the two sides. They also concurred to continue providing support for each other at multilateral forums and in matters of mutual concern, especially in defense cooperation mechanisms such as the ASEAN Defense Ministers Meeting (ADMM) or the ADMM Plus.
