Vietnamese military delegation visits Myanmar Defense Services Academy and Museum
PANO – A high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation, led by Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, visited the Myanmar Defense Services Academy and Museum on September 26.
The activity was part of the delegation’s visit to Myanmar.
After being briefed on the Myanmar Defense Services Academy’s construction, development, lecturing and researching work, General Giang highly valued the academy’s rich and effective curricula and emphasized that the academy has been playing an important role in training high-ranking cadres for the military and other agencies under Myanmar’s political system for the cause of Fatherland construction and protection.

The Vietnamese Chief of the General Staff hoped that the academy would expand its cooperation with the National Defense Academy of Vietnam, especially in doing research and sharing experiences in personnel training and finding the best training methods to meet the political missions of each country.
On behalf of the Vietnamese military delegation, General Giang wished the academy’s leadership, cadres and trainees good health and hoped that they would fulfill their responsibilities. He also expressed his hope that the solidarity between the two countries and the two militaries will further develop.

In a visit to the Myanmar Defense Services Museum, the Vietnamese military delegation was introduced to the Myanmar military’s formation and development.
Deeply impressed with the showcased exhibits, General Giang said that they helped the delegation learn more about the heroic Myanmar military. He believed the museum would play a valuable role in educating the Myanmar military’s history among younger generations.
