The Vietnamese NA leader asked Myanmar to support the viewpoint of ASEAN and Vietnam on the East Sea (South China Sea) issue, which advocates the settlement of disputes at sea by peaceful means and in line with international law, including the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982.

For his part, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing congratulated Vietnam on its remarkable achievements gained over the past time, especially in economy. He held that there is still much room for cooperation between Vietnam and Myanmar and asked the Vietnamese top legislator to pay more attention to encouraging Vietnamese businesses to invest in Myanmar. Also, he affirmed that he will strongly support Vietnam and make contributions to foster the bilateral relations between the two countries.
