The event, which also commemorated the 25th anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security (October 31, 2000 – 2025), and responded to World Mental Health Day (October 10), brought together a large number of female peacekeepers from other units in the Sector Unity, along with the entire staff of Level-2 Field Hospital Rotation 7.
The event was an occasion to honor the resilience and compassion of Vietnamese women, especially Vietnam’s female blue berets, and to strengthen mutual understanding and solidarity among peacekeeping forces working at the mission.
Speaking at the event, Non-Commissioned Major Truong Mai Hoa, Chairwoman of the Women’s Union of the hospital, reviewed the proud traditions of the Vietnamese women and emphasized their pioneering role in peacekeeping operations, in line with the spirit of UNSC Resolution 1325. Her remarks inspired pride, responsibility, and dedication among the female peacekeepers serving far from home.
Following that, Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Dinh Vu Ngoc Ninh, the hospital’s Deputy Director, chaired the seminar, titled “Women’s Mental Health Care – Stress and Management.” The session provided practical knowledge and valuable advice to help military personnel, particularly female medical officers, maintain a positive thinking while working in challenging and distant environments. The discussion received lively engagement and positive feedback from international participants.
The program also featured a variety of activities, including experience-sharing by female peacekeepers, art performances such as flute and guitar solos, group singing, and a traditional food exchange. A highlight of the event was that all supporting roles, from logistics and performing to cooking, were undertaken by male officers of the hospital, as a gesture of appreciation and respect for their female colleagues.
Representatives from partner units expressed admiration and deep respect for the courage, professionalism, and grace of female Vietnamese soldiers. They shared that the event not only helped them learn more about Vietnamese culture but also allowed them to feel the “kind hearts and soft power” that Vietnamese women contribute to peace. On this occasion, international friends also extended warm wishes to all Vietnamese women, especially the female soldiers of the hospital.
The event concluded with laughter, warm handshakes, and memorable photos, leaving a lasting impression on international colleagues about the dedicated medical staff of Vietnam’s Level 2 Field Hospital Rotation 7, true “Ambassadors of Peace” who embody friendliness, responsibility, and commitment to the noble mission of peacekeeping.
