Amid the Indian Ocean, the delegation held a solemn flag-saluting ceremony and a program to reflect on the 28-year tradition of the Viet Nam Coast Guard, reinforcing pride and determination among its officers and soldiers as they carried out their mission far from home.

Speaking at the program, Sr. Col. Dr. Nguyen Minh Khanh, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 2, said that despite the difficulties and shortages in its early years, the Viet Nam Coast Guard has continuously developed in terms of organization, personnel, equipment, and operational capacity.

Over the past 28 years, generations of coast guard officers and soldiers have remained united, pro-active, creative, resourceful, and courageous, overcoming difficulties and successfully fulfilling their missions. Their efforts have contributed to safeguarding national sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction; maintaining security, order, and safety at sea; protecting the peaceful lives of the people; and preserving a peaceful and stable environment for national development.

At the event, Sr. Col. Nguyen Minh Khanh praised the sense of responsibility, determination, and solidarity of members of the delegation, commending their spirit of overcoming difficulties to fulfill assigned missions. He also urged them to maintain a firm political stance and unity, strictly observe discipline, maintain duty and observation, remain ready to handle situations pro-actively, ensure safety throughout the voyage, and continue improving their professional skills and ability to operate and master the ship and its equipment.
