The ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Trinh Dinh Thach, Political Commissar of Military Region 5; Duong Van Trang, Secretary of the Kon Tum provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Kon Tum provincial People's Council; and representatives from the Lao provinces of Attapeu, Sekong, and Champasak, and the Cambodian province of Ratanakiri.

During the 2023-2024 dry season, thanks to the cooperation and assistance of the authorities and people from the three Lao provinces of Attapeu, SeKong, and Champasac, as well as the Cambodian province of Ratanakiri, Team K53 of the Kon Tum provincial Military Command successfully searched and collected 16 sets of war martyrs' remains. Among these, 8 sets were collected in Laos, and the remaining were collected in Cambodia.

One of the 16 sets of war martyrs' remains collected by Team K53 was identified. He was Doan Thanh Long, born in 1926, from Dien Quang commune, Dien Ban district, Quang Nam province. He served in Unit BT 8 - Group 559 and died on March 27, 1968, in Sompoi Village, Sanamxay District, Laos’ Attapeu province. The Kon Tum provincial authorities handed over the martyr’s remains to his family. The local authority also organized a memorial and burial service for the martyr in his hometown.
