Earlier, on December 18, they worked with Laos’ functional agencies to organize a ceremony to repatriate 11 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who sacrificed their lives in Laos during wartime. Among them, eight were verified; three were unidentified.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vu A Bang, Vice Chairman of the Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee, underlined that during the war in Laos, Vietnamese volunteer soldiers stood side by side with troops and people of Laos to bravely fight to regain independence and freedom, contributing to deepening the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates offered incense and flowers to pay tribute to fallen soldiers who laid down their lives for the peace and independence of the nation.

After the ceremony, unidentified martyrs were buried at Tong Khao War Cemetery. The identified martyrs were handed over to local authorities and their families in the provinces of Phu Tho, Lang Son, Bac Giang, Hoa Binh, Son La, Yen Bai, and Ha Nam.

Below are some photos of ceremony.
