Quang Binh hold memorial and burial service for fallen soldiers found in Laos
PANO - The authority of Quang Binh province held a memorial and burial service on May 23 at Ba Doc War Cemetery for Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who laid down their lives in Laos.
Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong attended the event.

During the 2023-2024 dry season, Search and Collection Team 589 undertook the task of the search and collection of martyrs’ remains in Khammouane province, Laos. Receiving the due attention and support from the Party Committee, local authorities and people in Khammouane province, the team exerted great efforts to overcome difficulties and hardships; actively collected and verified information, expanded the searching area, and collected 16 sets of martyrs’ remains.
During task performance, the team heightened the spirit of solidarity, maintained military discipline, observed the State’s policies and law as well as Lao customs and practices. Meanwhile, the team handed over 1,300 sets of clothes; provided free health check-ups and medicines to hundreds of people; mobilized more than 400 working days to repair the campus of 11 community houses, 10 schools, 4km of traffic roads, and others. At the ceremony, the delegates spent a minute of silence to express gratitude to the heroic martyrs who bravely fought and sacrificed themselves for peace and national independence and fulfilled the international duties.
