With the theme “Hoang Sa, Truong Sa – Sacred Sea and Islands,” and images and documents highlighting Naval Region 2’s operational achievements, Party congress activities of the naval region and the Naval Service, the opening day attracted more than 1,000 visitors, including troops of the Training Center and Technical Support Center under Naval Region 2, soldiers from affiliated units, local residents, teachers and students in the area, as well as young participants of the ongoing “Military Semester” program at the Training Center.

During the opening ceremony, delegates watched documentaries about the 70-year development of the Vietnam People’s Navy in safeguarding the national waters and the 16-year history of Naval Region 2.
On display were historical documents, maps, and filed photos sourced from the Vietnam National Archives, the Vietnam Museum of Military History, the Navy Museum, and international repositories including the French and U.S. national archives. Of particular note were imperial records and woodblocks from the Nguyen Dynasty, recognized by UNESCO as part of the Memory of the World Register.

The exhibition also featured images showcasing the Naval Service and Naval Region 2’s training, combat readiness, defense external affairs, and maritime patrol during the past tenure.
In his opening remarks, Captain Vu Manh Hoa, Political Commissar of the Training Center, emphasized that the exhibition served as an opportunity for military personnel and local people to better understand the historical evidence affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes. It also provided a strong foundation to refute distortions and wrongful allegations of hostile forces aimed at undermining the cause of defending national maritime sovereignty.
