Maj. Gen. Cao Xuan Thang at the event |
Agencies and units in the whole military have paid attention to searching for and repatriating martyrs' remains; awarding certificates in acknowledgement of soldiers’ contribution; providing one-time or monthly allowances for individuals who participated in the resistance wars against the French colonialists and U.S. imperialists and conducted international duties in Laos and Cambodia. The military has well carried out gratitude activities, actively participated in new-style rural area building efforts, and wholeheartedly supported those in difficult situations.
The military has also built and upgraded houses, presented savings books, taken care of heroic Vietnamese mothers, sponsored children of fallen or severely wounded soldiers, helped restore memorials to martyrs, offered gifts to policy beneficiaries, and donated medical supplies to centers caring for wounded soldiers and national contributors.
Such activities have been promoted in recent days to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. The efforts of officers and soldiers across the military have contributed to improving the material and spiritual lives of policy families and national contributors. They also serve to educate military personnel, particularly the younger generation, about the nation's noble tradition of gratitude.
