During the event, speakers agreed that the seminar was not only to review the August Revolution to take pride in the past, but also to affirm the responsibility of today’s generation to build a strong, prosperous, and happy Vietnam.

In his opening remarks, Secretary of the Party Committee and Editor-in-Chief of the PAN Major General Doan Xuan Bo emphasized the significance of honoring President Ho Chi Minh, revolutionaries, and millions of compatriots and soldiers who sacrificed themselves for and devoted their youth to independence and freedom of the nation and peace and happiness of the people. He stressed that the spirit of the August Revolution (August 19) must be strongly upheld in today’s national building and defense cause.
Strength from aspiration for independence and freedom
Prof., Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, former Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, analyzed the “formula” that led the Vietnamese nation from slavery to independence in the autumn of 1945. He affirmed that the victory in 1945 resulted from three golden factors, namely the correct revolutionary path, widespread mass forces, and the art of seizing of opportunities. He also stressed key lessons drawn, including decisiveness, flexibility, and timely action. For Vietnam to prosper, the Party must remain healthy, strong, innovative, creative and responsive to changes.

In his opinion, former Minister of Information and Communications Dr. Le Doan Hop stressed that the banner of “Independence - Freedom - Happiness” has united the entire nation and that following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example of “Love the country, love the people” is the path to the nation’s stronger and more prosperous development.
Prof., Dr. Dinh Xuan Dung, former Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Council for Theory and Literature and Arts Criticism, emphasized comprehensive human development and the role of literature and arts in cultivating and spreading noble spiritual values, promoting patriotism, protecting traditional values, and combating signs of moral and ideological degradation.

Shaping future from historical lessons
Given intertwined opportunities and challenges, Dr. Nguyen Si Dung, member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Advisory Council and former Deputy Head of the National Assembly (N.A.) Office, proposed institutional reforms, building a modern, consistent, feasible legal system with pilot policy mechanisms and public-business engagement in law-making.
N.A. deputy Phan Duc Hieu, member of the N.A.’s Economic and Financial Committee, highlighted the private sector as a key economic driver and hoped that Resolution 68 would open up a new economic growth phase. He emphasized the need to implement policy resolutely and consistently from central to local levels.
United for shared aspiration
Noting the need to transform patriotism into creative strength, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Bui Hoai Son, member of the N.A.’s Committee for Culture and Social Affairs, laid stress on key factors of building a healthy cultural environment, developing reputable cultural brands on the international stage, and balancing economic and cultural development.
BIDV Standing Deputy Party Secretary and member of the Board of Directors Tran Xuan Hoang shared the bank’s social responsibility, aspiration for innovation, and pioneering role in contributing to a strong Vietnam.

President of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center Prof., Dr. Le Hong Hanh suggested promoting arbitration to resolve business disputes, unlocking significant economic resources.
Assoc. Prof., Dr., People’s Teacher, Major General Nguyen Ba Duong in charge of the Advisors Group 35 of the Central Military Commission affirmed that the Vietnam People’s Army has always excelled in combat, work, and production, and remains steadfast in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation and defending the Fatherland early and from afar, helping maintain a peaceful environment for national development.
The seminar concluded with renewed confidence and determination, reaffirming that the spirit of the August Revolution remains a guiding light for every Vietnamese in the new era of the nation’s development.
