During the 2021-2025 period, the search, collection and identification of martyrs’ remains have been effectively carried out by relevant agencies, units, and localities, achieving notable results. In detail, a total of 1,228 sets of remains have been recovered, with 19 successfully verified (including 683 remains recovered in Cambodia, of which 2 were verified). Over 900 DNA samples were tested, resulting in 80 identifications.

Concluding the conference, Maj. Gen. Huynh Van Ngon required agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's viewpoints and policies, as well as the State's guidelines; the Prime Minister's decisions; and the directives and guidance documents issued by the National Steering Committee 515 and relevant ministries and agencies on the search, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains, while enhancing dissemination and education to raise awareness and responsibility of organizations, all levels, sectors, and troops on the task of searching for and collecting martyrs’ remains.

Agencies and units should effectively organize of the survey, verification, and conclusion of information related to burial sites of martyrs in the country, as well as information of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who laid down their lives in Cambodia, among others.

On the occasion, the MR9’s Steering Committee 515 presented certificates of merits to nine collectives and 13 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the search, collection and verification of martyrs’ remains in the 2021-2025 period.
