The Vietnam Border Guard Law consists of 6 chapters and 36 articles, which were approved by the 15th National Assembly during its 10th session on November 11, 2020, and started to be effective as from January 1, 2022. It outlines several state policies concerning the border guard forces, their functions, duties, power, principles, and the forces involved in executing border guard missions. It also covers the organizational structure and operational scope of the border guard force, as well as the regulations and policies for the forces implementing border guard missions. This legal document is of great significance, fully reflecting the Party's new perspectives on safeguarding the homeland, defense, security, border management, and protection.
