Ship Truong Sa 10 tows the distressed vessel.

The trawler, with registration number of KH 92259 TS, had eight crew members on board and captained by Nguyen Van Khuong who resides in Long Le Hoa ward, Khanh Hoa province.

According to Brigade 125, while operating in the North-Northwestern waters, about 48 nautical miles from Da Lat Island (Ladd Reef) in Truong Sa Special Zone, the fishing vessel suddenly suffered a gearbox failure, resulting in a complete loss of maneuverability.

Facing that dangerous situation amidst complicated weather conditions, with Northeast winds at force 6 and a high risk to safety, the vessel’s captain promptly asked for help from functional forces.

Upon receiving the order from the Naval Region 2 Command, officers and sailors aboard Ship Truong Sa 10 quickly headed to the area where the fishing vessel was in distress. The crew safely approached the trawler, provided technical assistance, and tried to tow it ashore despite adverse weather conditions, ensuring absolute safety of both personnel and ships.
