Quang Tri border guards rescue two fishermen in distress at sea
PANO – On December 12, Cua Tung Border Station under the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command, in coordination with functional forces and local residents, promptly detected and rescued two fishermen in distress at sea.
Specifically, at around 10:30 a.m. the same day, while returning from offshore fishing grounds to Cua Tung inlet (Cua Tung commune, Quang Tri province), the fishing vessel QT 10164-TS encountered strong winds and high waves, causing damage to the vessel’s side and posing a risk of sinking.

At the time of the incident, there were two fishermen aboard the vessel: Tran Van Tinh (born in 1978) and Le Van Hai (born in 1974), both residing in An Hoa 1 hamlet, Cua Tung commune.
Upon receiving the distress information, the Cua Tung Border Station promptly mobilized forces and means and coordinated rescue operations, successfully ensuring the safety of both fishermen.
The damaged fishing vessel was subsequently towed ashore by the responding forces for repairs.
