PANO – During the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2026, while the mainland is adorned with festive colors and families reunite in warm celebration, vessels of the Vietnam Coast Guard continue steadfastly operating in distant waters. Lights shining across the decks pierce the night, reflecting the firm resolve to strictly maintain combat readiness and avoid being caught off guard in any circumstances.

Inside the cabins, yellow apricot blossom branches and pairs of banh chung are arranged simply yet meaningfully. Amidst the sound of waves and decisive commands from the Vietnam Coast Guard Command’s headquarters, officers and sailors welcome the New Year in comradeship while maintaining a firm grip on their weapons and steady hands on the helm, carrying out patrol missions at sea.

In all circumstances, the coast guard officers and soldiers remain resilient in combating maritime crime, upholding the rule of law, and safeguarding peace and security across the sacred seas and islands of the Fatherland.
