Timely rescue of fishermen in distress at sea
PANO - On August 15, Major Nguyen Van Hinh, Political Commissar of the An Hai Border Post under the Border Guard Command of the Dak Lak Provincial Military Command, reported that the unit, in coordination with local fishing vessels, successfully rescued a fishing vessel and five fishermen in distress off the coast of O Loan commune, Dak Lak province.
Earlier, at 8:30 a.m. on August 14, the An Hai Border Post received the information that fishing vessel BD98470TS, owned and captained by Nguyen Van Tau (born in 1985, residing in Tan Thanh 2 hamlet, Hoai Nhon Bac ward, Gia Lai province), had encountered an incident in the waters off Xom Cat hamlet, O Loan commune, about one nautical mile from shore.

Immediately after receiving the report, the unit mobilized five officers and soldiers, together with a local fishing boat, to promptly reach the scene, implement rescue measures, assist in overcoming the incident, and provide encouragement to the crew.

Currently, fishing vessel BD98470TS is being towed by a rescue boat to Quy Nhon port for repairs. The health of all five fishermen is stable.
