Earlier the same day, Ship 409, which was patrolling in the waters of Nam Yet (Namyit) Island in Truong Sa island district of Khanh Hoa province, received a request to pull QNg 90478 TS out of a shoal in the southeast of Nam Yet (Namyit) Island. The trawler was stuck while anchoring overnight in the area.

On receiving the request, Ship 409 approached and applied different methods to pull the trawler without causing any damages to the fishing boat. Because the trawler was stranded deep on the shoal, Ship 409’s crew-members used a towline to hold the trawler to prevent it from being pushed deeper to the shoal by waves and wait until the tide rises.

At 2p.m. the same day, Ship 409 successfully pulled trawler QNg 90478 TS out of the shoal and conducted repairing while ensuring absolute safety.

The QNg 90478 TS with Luu Dinh Dung (57 years old, in Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province) at the helm had 13 fishermen on board. The fishing boat departed from Sa Ky fishing port in Binh Chau commune on November 15.

After being pulled out of the shoal and repaired, the QNg 90478 TS vessel was tied to Ship 409 for monitoring. The trawler will continue the voyage when it is completely re-checked.
