Cat Tien 3 residents recently discovered unidentified chemicals causing chest tightness, breathing difficulties, and eye irritation. Military Region 7’s chemical unit identified the substance as war-era CS agent, posing risks to public health and the environment.

Soldiers from the Chemical Division and Battalion 38 traveled through mountainous terrain to the site. Coordinating with the Bao Lam District Military Command and local authorities, they treated approximately 400 kilograms of CS agent and 300 square meters of contaminated soil.

Alongside this hazardous mission, Military Region 7 troops conducted mass mobilization activities, including house repairs and cultural exchanges with the Ma people. These efforts strengthened the bond between the military and the community, deepening ties with local authorities and building a resilient "people's heart posture" in ethnic minority areas.
