After more than an hour, a technical team led by Doctor Phan Anh Tuan, Deputy-Head of the Cardiology-Nephrology-Bone and Joint Department of the hospital, placed 2 stents for the patient, thus bypassing the obstructed coronary artery allowing the blood to flow freely again.

According to Doctor Le Van Hoa, Deputy-Director of Military Hospital 105, the successful surgery was due to the effective coordination among the hospital's staff in quickly providing emergency aid to the patient.

This was the encouraging first step ahead of the introduction of a Cardiac Intervention Unit under Military Hospital 105.
