During the event, the organizing panel provided information related to the Vietnamese coast guard forces, the current situation of national sea and islands, the developments in the East Sea (South China Sea), as well as the viewpoints, policies, and strategies for protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands for nearly 300 participants, including leaders from the Uong Bi city Party and People's Committees, key officials from 10 wards and communes, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations.

The organizers also presented 150 gifts to needy policy beneficiaries, heroic Vietnamese mothers, wounded soldiers and people with difficult conditions; handed over two gifts to two secondary schools, 30 bicycles and 30 gift packages to disadvantaged students in the city.

The “I love national sea and islands” contest saw the participation of 100 students from Nguyen Trai Secondary School in Thanh Son commune. As a result, the organizing panel awarded one first, two second, two third, and 15 consolation prizes.

These practical activities contributed to raising awareness of officials, youth union members, and students in Uong Bi City about national sovereignty over sea and islands, thereby, fostering their patriotism, love for sea and islands, and heightening their responsibility for the cause of building and protecting national maritime sovereignty.
