GS Deputy Chief inspects military units in Quang Nam and Da Nang
PANO - On January 18, a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff (GS) of the Vietnam People's Army, inspected and extended Tet (lunar New Year) greetings to several military units in Quang Nam Province and Da Nang City.
These units included the Quang Nam Provincial Military Command, the Quang Nam Provincial Border Guard Command, the Da Nang Municipal Border Guard Command, Brigade 74 (General Department II), and Brigade 172 (Naval Region 3).

During his visits, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh commended the achievements of the units over the past time. He highlighted their close coordination with local Party committees, authorities, and functional forces in ensuring security and sovereignty over the border, sea, and islands, fostering solidarity with local people, effectively conducting search and rescue, disaster response, and training activities, as well as preparing for Tet celebrations for the troops.
The Deputy Chief of the General Staff urged the units’ leaders to regularly conduct exercises to ensure combat readiness; closely coordinate with relevant forces to monitor all situations; proactively advise and handle issues effectively, uphold political security, social order and safety in their stationed areas; prepare thoroughly for the recruitment, reception of new soldiers, and training activities in 2025.

Additionally, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh emphasized the importance of collaborating with functional forces to raise public awareness of adhering to the law and preventing violations, particularly in combating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, monitor fishing activities, and organize a joyful and safe Tet festival for the troops.
