The activity was to commemorate the 79th anniversary of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27, 1947 - 2026).

Before the event, GS’s deputy chief and the delegation laid flowers and offered incense at the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Room and Duc Tho Commune War Cemetery, paying tribute to fallen heroes and expressing profound gratitude for the sacrifices made by generations of martyrs in defense of the nation's independence and freedom.

During the meeting, General Son inquired after policy families and expressed sincere appreciation for the contributions and sacrifices of revolutionary contributors and their relatives. On behalf of the GS, he presented 50 gift packages to policy families.

Addressing the gathering, the GS’s deputy chief said that the annual activity reflects the nation's enduring tradition of honoring those who have served the country and demonstrates the armed forces' gratitude and responsibility toward people with meritorious service.

He also called on local Party committees and authorities to continue improving both the material and spiritual well-being of policy beneficiaries, helping ensure stable and better lives for their families.
