Earlier, on the afternoon of March 7, after receiving information from local authorities and residents about a drowning accident in the Dong Hai embankment area in Dong Hai ward, Khanh Hoa province, Underwater Commando Brigade 5 quickly reported the situation to the leadership of the Commando Corps and developed a plan to mobilize forces and equipment for search and rescue operations.

According to the plan, the brigade deployed 26 officers and soldiers from Frogman Commando Battalion 3, along with various specialized vehicles and equipment. The mission was directly commanded by Senior Colonel Nguyen Cong Long, Commanding Officer of Underwater Commando Brigade 5.

Despite complicated weather conditions, rough seas, and limited underwater visibility, the officers and soldiers of the brigade demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and perseverance, conducting continuous search operations both on the surface and underwater.

After more than a day of intensive searching, at about 3:45 p.m. on March 8, the forces of Underwater Commando Brigade 5 successfully located the victim’s body and handed it over to the local authorities and the family.
