Defense Trade Union’s delegation visit Truong Sa

PANO - A delegation from the Defense Trade Union, led by its Deputy Head Senior Colonel Tran Thi Thu Hien, has joined the second working delegation of the General Department of Political Affairs to visit and present gifts to troops and people on islands of Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago in Khanh Hoa province and the DK1 platforms.

The delegation visited Son Ca (Sand Cay), Da Thi (Pettley Reef), Sinh Ton Dong (Grierson Reef), Len Dao (Lansdowne Reef), Toc Tan (Alison Reef) A, Phan Vinh (Pearson Reef) A, Da Dong (East London Reef) B, Truong Sa Dong (Central London Reef), Da Tay (West London Reef) A, Da Lat (Ladd Reef), and DK1/2 platform.

During the visit, the delegates were briefed on island troops’ performance of political task. On this occasion, they presented practical gifts, as an encouragement to officers and soldiers stationed on the islands. In particular, the delegation provided many essential items, showing the care and support of military trade union organization for those who are performing duties on the Truong Sa Archipelago in particular and troop in the whole military in general.

On this occasion, the delegation visited and handed over gifts four trade union organization and 12 trade union members who are doctors and nurses of infirmaries on Son Ca, Sinh Ton Dong, Phan Vinh A, and Da Tay A. They also presented gifts to students on Da Tay A Island.

According to Col. Hien, the trip to Truong Sa was one of the practical activities of military trade union officials and members to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2025). It also serves as the kick-off event for Workers’ Month 2025. Activities within the trip showed the care of those in the mainland for troops and islanders.
