Da Nang border guards rescue injured sailor at sea
PANO - Troops from Flotilla 2 under the Da Nang City Border Guard Command promptly rescued a sailor in distress and brought him ashore for emergency treatment on September 11.
Earlier, at around 2:45 a.m., Flotilla 2 received an emergency call from Nguyen Van Bay, owner and captain of fishing vessel DNa 91308 TS, reporting that his crew-member, Nguyen Van Nam, had been struck heavily on the neck by the ship’s winch cable, causing him to lose consciousness and vomit. At the time of the incident, the vessel was operating about 20 nautical miles off the Da Nang coast.

The skipper further informed that the vessel was heading back to shore to rush the injured sailor to hospital and requested assistance from the local border guard force.
Under the direction of the commanding officer of the border guard command, a nine-person crew, led by Major Vu Duc Long, along with personnel from the 115 Emergency Center, promptly departed from the Flotilla 2 Post, heading towards the distressed vessel.
At 5:30 a.m. ship BD 08-98-01 successfully reached the fishing boat, taking the injured fisherman aboard for first aid. At 6:45 a.m., the ship docked at the post of Border Guard Control Station No.15 where the patient was transferred to the 115 Emergency Center and then to Da Nang Hospital for further treatment.
