First aid given to the distressed sailor

Earlier, at 13:40 on April 18, sailor Laride Jerry Abapo had a labor accident, causing serious bleeding, as the ship was on its journey from China to Singapore.

The ship’s captain contacted the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam MRCC) to ask for first aid and taking the distressed sailor ashore for further treatment.

After receiving the information, the center requested the Ho Chi Minh City Coastal Information Radio to contact the Nea Elpis to provide medical consultation for the sailor in distress, while instructing the ship to quickly move to Vung Tau city, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

The sailor is taken to hospital for further treatment.

At 03:45 on April 19, ship SAR 413 of the center approached ship Nea Elpis and gave the sailor first aid, and then took him to Vung Tau city.

The foreign sailor was handed over to the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Border Guard Command and relevant organs and then received treatment at Vung Tau Hospital.
