Cuban defense leader visits exhibition on Vietnam’s achievements
PANO – As part of his official visit to Vietnam and attendance at the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, on September 5, Senior Lieutenant General Álvaro López Miera, Minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, visited the exhibition themed “80 years of Independence – Freedom – Happiness” at the National Convention and Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, Hanoi.
Senior Lieutenant General Álvaro López Miera and the high-ranking Cuban military delegation toured the outdoor display area of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, a highlight of the exhibition.

At the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall, the delegation visited the display themed “95 years under the Party’s flag,” which featured historical milestones of the Communist Party of Vietnam over its 95 years leading the Vietnamese revolution, illustrated through artifacts, photos, video clips, and stories. The exhibition left a deep impression on the Cuban guests.
At the indoor display of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the Cuban delegation viewed historical images of September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, and was introduced to the establishment of the Vietnam Dissemination and Liberation Armed Team, the predecessor of the Vietnam People’s Army.

They were also introduced to new-generation defense products, dual-use equipment, logistics-technical innovations, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missile system models, and other high-tech products of the Vietnam People’s Army.
