The event was to mark the the 80th foundation day (September 15, 1945 – 2025) of the General Department of Defense Industry.
At commemorative stele of Vietnam’s military supply force - weaponry production trade union, a national historical site in Cho Moi commune, the general department held a tribute ceremony and inaugurated the upgraded and expanded relic site. The site bears sacred meaning, honoring the tremendous contribution of generations of officers and soldiers of the military supply force, who laid the foundation for a revolutionary, self-reliant defense industry in the resistance war.
Along with other renovated and expanded facilities, the stele is expected to become an important venue for visits and education in tradition, instilling patriotism and the spirit of resilience among future generations of officers, soldiers, and workers of the defense industry, as well as the armed forces at large.

On this occasion, the general department presented awards of the fifth contest on protecting the Party’s ideological foundation and the writing contest on the 80-year tradition of the defense industry. From March to August 2025, nearly 13,000 entries were submitted at grassroots levels, with more than 500 outstanding works selected for the general department level. As a result, the organizers awarded special prizes, A prizes, first prizes, and second prizes to outstanding collectives and individuals.
Also at the relic site, the general department presented gifts to the Party committee and local authorities of Cho Moi commune, families connected with the relic, as well as policy beneficiaries and households facing hardships in the area.

The same day, the general department inaugurated a cultural house and opened an exhibition hall. On this occasion, it also presented gifts to the local Party Committee, authorities, families associated with the relic, and disadvantaged policy households in the locality.
These practical activities of the general department's officers, soldiers, and workers were to pay gratitude to local people during the 80-year building and development of the sector.
