Presenting gifts to needy students |
Established on December 9, 1992, Bach Long Vi island district began with just 25 officials and 62 youth volunteers. With iron determination and solidarity, the island district has overcome many difficulties. From an isolated island with no electricity or fresh water, Bach Long Vi has since seen the development of dozens of projects that have brought practical socio-economic benefits while enhancing defense and security. Notably, the island now has a 24/7 supply of fresh water and electricity from wind, solar, and diesel sources.

Disseminating laws to fishermen |
The island is home to 326 households with 1,152 people, most of whom work in fishing and fishery logistics services. During stormy periods, the number of people on the island can rise to 2,000-3,000 as fishing vessels seek shelter on the island.
During the visit, the delegation offered incense to pay tribute to heroic martyrs on the island and conducted meetings and field surveys on the implementation of key socio-economic development projects, national security, maritime order, marine economy, and efforts to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 1 Command presented 95 gifts to units stationed in the areas, disadvantaged households, and needy students who have good academic outcomes. The delegation also disseminated information about IUU fishing, handed over gifts, and presented national flags to fishermen operating near Bach Long Vi island.
