PANO - Lang Ho Border Post of the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command, in collaboration with the Party Committee and authorities of Lam Thuy commune, Le Thuy district and other units, organized the “Border guard spring warms up mountainous people's hearts” program on January 5.
Held under the direction of the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command, the program for the Bru - Van Kieu people in Lam Thuy commune was the first New Year celebration activity within the “Border guard spring warms up mountainous people's hearts” program in border areas in the Central province of Quang Binh.
During the program, the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command, Lang Ho Border Post, and other organizations and individuals presented nearly 600 gift packages, including cash and essential items, worth over VND 200 million in total, to policy families, the Bru - Van Kieu ethnic people facing difficult circumstances, and needy students with outstanding academic results.
In addition, units organized a series of spring celebration activities such as a “Zero VND Market,” Chung (square sticky rice) cake wrapping contest, free medical checkups and medicine distribution, haircuts, tug-of-war, sack races, and more. These activities attracted the active participation of local people.
The practical activities in the program served as a timely encouragement for people in border areas, thus helping them have a joyful Lunar New Year. At the same time, these activities helped strengthen the solidarity between the military and people and motivate people and the border guard force to stay united to firmly safeguard the national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and border security.
