Chi Sang village is home to the Dao ethnic minority people and has 152 households with ten Party members. Despite economic difficulties, the villagers always observe the Party’s guidelines, and the State’s policies and law.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Van Luong hoped that local people would continue to abide by the Party’s guidelines, and the State’s policies and law; join hands with local party committees, and authorities at all levels to perform political tasks of the localities. They should also promote solidarity, exert all-out efforts and accompany border guards in protecting borderline, border markers, and sacred national border sovereignty.

At the event, the chairman and Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Hung, Political Commissar of the Lai Chau provincial Border Guard Command, presented national flags, portraits of Uncle Ho to 10 households and other gifts to poor people and needy students under the “Paving the way to school for children” program and the “Officers and soldiers paving the way to school for children” project.

In the framework of the event, other activities such as  Banh Chung making, folk games, free provision of health check-ups and medicines, and a joint meal entitled “Enjoy Spring - Welcome Tet” were also conducted.

* The same day, Defense-Economic Unit 778 under Military Region 7 and the People’s Committee of Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province and other units co-organized a “Border Spring” program in Bu Gia Map commune.

Under this program, 100 gifts, each worth VND 500,000, were presented to disadvantaged and poor people. Doctors of the defense-economic unit examined health and gave medicines to nearly 200 local people. Besides, participating units raised locals’ awareness of the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and law, and plots and tricks of criminals.

These activities helped bring a cozy Tet to poor people and ethnic minority people in border areas and strengthen the relations between troops and people, contributing to the firm building of people’s heart posture in border areas in Binh Phuoc province.
