This information was announced by Colonel Nguyen Hung Son, Commanding Officer of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau provincial Border Guard Command, on February 6.

Particularly, the cargo vessel was carrying more than 4,500 cars from the Republic of Korea (RoK) to Singapore on February 4. It suddenly caught fire off Vung Tau coast.

Receiving the information, Squadron 2 mobilized personnel and vehicles to conduct rescue missions.

Currently, the fire is brought under control and the ship is floating in the waters of Vung Tau. All crew members on board are in safe conditions. Squadron 2 continues sending troops to the scene and stays ready for the rescue missions. The cause of the fire is not yet clear as the rescue force has not checked the inside of the troubled ship.
