Previously, at 4:35 p.m. on March 17, Ship Pacific 07 from Panama had an engine failure and was in danger of stranding about 30 nautical miles from Vietnam’s Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island. After receiving the news, the Naval Service sent two ships operating nearby to quickly rescue the distressed ship.

TC EAGLE Vessel tows Ship Pacific 07 to shore.

After the four-day long effort, the naval troops took Ship Pacific 07 to the waters about 180 nautical miles from Phu Quy Island (Binh Thuan province).

Under the order of the Naval Service, the Saigon Newport Corporation dispatched the Tan Cang EAGLE (specialized rescue ship) to receive and tow Ship Pacific 07 to the mainland.

It is expected that around 9 p.m. on March 24, the troubled ship will be towed to Vung Tau waters. Currently, 19 crew-members of Pacific 07 are in stable health conditions.
