PANO – The General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army on January 7th reviewed its training results in the fourth quarter of last year and rolled out missions for the first quarter of this year.

In the last quarter of last year, the whole army basically fulfilled training missions with all of the troops receiving good and excellent training results. Activities ended with high quality while ensuring complete safety.

Vietnamese military marksmen won seven sets of medals at the ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet in Thailand, while military athletes bagged four medals at the sixth International Military Sports Council (CISM) Military World Games in the Republic of Korea, ranking 31st among 117 participating countries. Sports teams of the army collected 147 medals of different types at domestic and international tournaments.

Addressing the conference, Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Deputy Chief of General Staff, praised achievements recorded by staff units over the past time and asked them to prepare accommodation, training grounds, and equipment for training missions.  He also requested the military police force to promote inspections to ensure security before, during, and after the 12th National Party Committee and the Tet (Lunar New Year) Festival.
