The ceremony was attended by leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front, and Ministry of National Defense, as well as family members.
Party General Secretary To Lam led a delegation of the Party Central Committee to pay tribute to the deceased.
Writing on the condolence book, Party General Secretary To Lam described General Nguyen Quyet as a steadfast communist who joined in leading Vietnam’s revolution, and a brilliant general of the Vietnam People’s Army.

State President Luong Cuong, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, as well as leaders of ministries and localities, among others, also paid homage to General Nguyen Quyet.
General Nguyen Quyet passed away in Hanoi on September 23 due to serious illness at the age of 102.
With 85 years since his admission to the Party and over 65 years since joining in the revolution, General Nguyen Quyet devoted his whole life to the glorious cause of the Party and the nation. Throughout his career, he held many important leadership positions, from a soldier in the struggle for national liberation to key roles in the Fatherland construction and defense cause. The General always fulfilled the duties entrusted to him by the Party, the State, the military, and the people with distinction.

A burial service for General Nguyen Quyet took place at 3:30 p.m. at Mai Dich Cemetery in Hanoi the same day.
