PANO – Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics under the Vietnam People's Army, visited the People's Army Newspapers (PAN) in celebration of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21st 1925-2015) on June 15th.

Highly valuing the position and role of PAN in the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press, General Nghia affirmed that over the past 65 years the newspaper has considerably contributed to the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press and won the trust of leaders of the Party, State, Army and ministries.

In any circumstances, the newspaper has successfully ensured information orientation for the public and effectively popularized the national construction and defence cause and the building of a revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually modernised army.

In addition, it has taken the lead in fighting the “peaceful evolution” scheme of hostile forces as well as covering major national events, such as the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, 70th anniversary of the VPA’s foundation day, 85th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s establishment, 40th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification, and 125th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh.

The General asked the PAN to continuously hold firm to the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press’ virtue, continue to successfully carry out the project of modernizing military press agencies in the 2014-2018 period as ratified by the Ministry of National Defence, and heighten its military reporters’ political stance and expertise to reflect exact information for readers, contributing to deepening the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the modern context.

Major General Pham Van Huan, PAN's Editor-in-Chief, took notes of General Nghia’s recommendations and underlined that PAN’s staff and reporters would do their utmost to fulfill all assigned tasks, deserving the organ of the Military Central Commission and Vietnam Ministry of National Defence, and the voice of the armed forces and people.

The same day, General Nghia visited some military press agencies under the General Department of Politics.
