At the event in Hai Phong city on October 28, the participants were briefed on the tradition of the region’s armed forces. In the resistance wars against French and American invaders, the armed forces of Military Region 3 were stationed in key strategic localities in Northern Vietnam and worked closely with regular, local troops and the militia force to boost information dissemination to enemy troops. They also joined thousands of battles, annihilated tens of thousands of enemy troops, and destroyed a huge number of enemy weapons and equipment. Their feats-of-arms importantly contributed to the resounding victory of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign and the great victory in Spring of 1975.
