The freighter is towed to a safe place.

After receiving the information, the Naval Command’s Headquarters directed Submarine Brigade 189 to send a rescue team to the scene for a search and rescue mission.

At 9:30 on September 20, Ship 911 safely towed GLOBE 6 to Cam Ranh Bay. Currently, all members of the freighter are in good health condition.

GLOBE 6, captained by 46-year-old Nguyen Hoai An (Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh province), had 17 crew-members on board, including 13 Vietnamese and three Indians, and was transporting 4,186 tons of steel from Quang Ngai province to Ho Chi Minh City.

This was the sixth civil ship that has been successfully rescued by naval troops of Ship 991 so far. Earlier, the naval troops safely saved distressed ships from Mongolia, Japan, and Singapore.
