Earlier, on September 30, at Hon Anh Dong Shooting Range in Kien Giang province, ships from Brigade 127, Brigade 175 of the Naval Region 5 Command conducted a live-fire exercise of 5a and 5b lessons, using staffed weapons to destroy targets in the air and at sea, both during the day and at night.

In order for the live-fire exercise to take place as planned and achieve all set targets, the Naval Region 5 Command coordinated with local authorities and functional units to notify fishermen about unsafe fishing areas.

Meanwhile, they deployed dozens of ships and boats to guard the shooting range and ensure security for the military ships during their operations.

At the exercise, all participating officers and soldiers strictly followed orders of their commanders and adhered to all safety regulations. They well performed their tasks and successfully destroyed targets from the very first rounds.

The live-fire exercise aimed to evaluate the combat readiness of the ships, as well as the leadership of the officers, and troops’ mastering of weapons and equipment, so as to draw lessons and adjust training plans of the unit in the time to come.

Reportedly, all troops achieved good and excellent results during the exercise with absolute safety.
