PANO – In the coming time, troops of DK1/15, DK1/11, DK1/12 and DK1/14 platforms should thoroughly grasp their assignments, heighten their responsibilities, promote creativity and overcome all challenges to fulfill assigned tasks. In the short run, they should make thorough preparations for the coming lunar New Year (Tet) festival while maintaining combat readiness before, during and after Tet.
The request was made by Senior Colonel Huynh Vinh Tuyen, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 2, while visiting DK1 platforms in the Southern continental shelf of the country on January 7 and 8.

Praising the achievements recorded by troops on DK1 platforms last year, Senior Colonel Huynh Vinh Tuyen urged the garrisoned troops to further build politically-, ideologically- and organizationally-strong units and raise the quality of training and combat readiness, contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty over the country’s waters, islands and continental shelf.
He also wished them a happy, safe and economical Tet.
During the visit, the mission presented gifts, including orchids, kumquats, newspapers, New Year greeting cards, glutinous rice, mung bean, dong (Phrynium placentarium) leaves, pork, among others to help troops have an adequate Tet.
Meanwhile, members of the youth club for national seas and islands brought a national flag with signatures of players of the Vietnam national football team to inspire troops to firmly safeguard national sovereignty over the Southern continental shelf of the country.
Representatives of DK1 platforms thanked the Party, State, military and people in the mainland for the sentiment and affirmed that they would overcome all difficulties and fulfill all assigned missions to firmly protect national sovereignty over the seas and islands.
