Reportedly, in August, the whole military strictly observed combat readiness regulations. Meanwhile, the MND grasped thoroughly all situations and actively gave recommendations to the Party and State to deal with arising problems in a timely and effective manner. Besides, the MND directed its affiliated agencies and units to map out approaches to accomplish military-defense missions.
The whole military also rearranged forces, conducted exercises as planned, assigned contingents to participate in the International Army Games 2019 and implemented emulation movements and emulation-reward work in more diverse forms. Moreover, the contingent of cadres and Party members of the MND’s affiliates did successful political education work, and built a firm ideological foundation among troops.
Additionally, the whole military effectively carried out defense external affairs, assisted people in natural disasters-hit localities in overcoming consequences, conducted search and rescue missions, and comprehensively implemented all aspects. Troops undertook and outstandingly fulfilled both routine and unscheduled missions.

In his conclusion speech, General Lich applauded military agencies and units for their achievements in all aspects.
While analyzing situations at home, and in the region and the world, the Defense Minister asked Party Committees and chains-of-command at all levels to boost information dissemination to raise troops’ awareness of hostile forces’ plots, to heighten revolutionary vigilance, and to map out approaches and prepare forces, weapons, equipment, logistics, and technologies to be active in any circumstances.
Regarding missions in September, General Lich laid stress on maintaining combat readiness regulations, closely watching situational developments, actively addressing arising issues, firmly protecting national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and building an environment of peace and stability for the national development.
Relevant agencies and units were also requested to closely team up with the police and other related forces to uphold political security, social order and safety, especially before, during, and after the National Day (September 2) while strictly observing search and rescue regulations and ensuring logistics, technical equipment, and finance for troops to fulfill all assignments.
