Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Trinh Van Quyet made the request while attending the Congress of Military Region 7 (MR7)’s Party Organization for the 2025-2030 term on August 14.

The GDP’s Chief also asked the MR7’s Party Organization to continue reviewing and adjusting plans to build a compact, strong, revolutionary, regular, elite, and modernized armed forces by 2026;  focus on developing a “strong and widespread” militia force and a “powerful” reserve force; to make breakthrough and improve the quality of training, education, recruitment, and military enrolment; organize exercises at all levels with precision, effectiveness, and absolute safety;  continue thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing Resolution 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; promote the application of science, technology, and digital transformation across all fields.

He stressed the importance of building a healthy and comprehensively strong Party Organization; strictly maintaining and applying the Party’s leadership principles and methods; enhancing the leadership capacity and combat strength of Party committees and organizations at all levels; promoting the pioneering and exemplary role of cadres and Party members; fostering the implementation of the movement of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style; effectively carrying out measures to attract military talents; and building a contingent of officers capable of meeting the demands of tasks in the new situation.

At the event, General Quyet also acknowledged and commended the achievements of MR7’s Party Organization in the past tenure. Over the past three years, the MR thoroughly grasped and rigorously implemented the Party’s guidelines, the State’s policies and laws, as well as resolutions, directives, conclusions, regulations, and rules issued by the CMC and MND.

Under the leadership of the MR’s Party Committee, agencies and units successfully completed assigned tasks. In particular, they strictly maintained combat readiness regulations; closely coordinated with relevant forces to ensure absolute safety for major national events; and actively assisted people in disaster prevention, mitigation, and recovery, as well as search and rescue operations. Notably, the MR mobilized over 100,000 officers, soldiers, militia members, and reservists, along with 47,000 vehicles and more than VND 812 billion to support the public in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier the same day, the leadership of MR7 and the delegates offered incense and flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.
