In the first six month of this year, the Party Committee of Military Region 7 effectively led the realization of the Party’s guidelines, the State’s laws, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense’s resolutions and directives on military and defense work. The whole region’s agencies and units kept a close watch and forecast situational developments, closely teamed with relevant forces to handle situations in a timely manner, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety and creating conditions for the locality to recover and develop economy. They also helped build whole-people defense posture and people’s security disposition, firm defensive areas, raise defense and security knowledge for people in the stationed areas.

Addressing the conference held by Military Region 7’s Party Committee, Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs highly praised the region’s achievements in the first half with the improvement in synergy, competence and combat readiness capability of the region’s armed forces as a highlight.

Gen. Quyet asked the region’s Party Committee to continue directing grasping situations, making preparations for and develop scenarios on search and rescue operations, disaster prevention, non-traditional security issues. He asked it to organize training in substantive manner, conduct mass mobilization and gratitude activities effectively, and build a safe locality as well as improve the efficiency of defense diplomacy work.

In the second half, the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Vietnam Border Guard are determined to pro-actively make suggestions to the Ministry of National Defense to issue policies and solutions to enhance international integration, defense diplomacy, and border diplomacy to ensure the border management and protection work fulfilled.

Other missions include thorough preparations for the first Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia border defense friendship exchange, the eighth Vietnam - China border defense friendship exchange, the second exchanges between young officers of Vietnam and Laos and Cambodia in Ha Tinh and Nghe An provinces; maintenance of the twinning models between border posts, armed forces, residential areas with neighboring countries; grasping immigration, import-export policies of countries sharing the same borderline with Vietnam to ensure order and safety in border gate areas, to name but a few.

* At the conference held by the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, participants learned that the agency’s Party and political work in the reviewed period was carried out comprehensively, meeting routine and unscheduled plans.

Addressing the event, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sr. Lt. Gen. Phung Si Tan asked Party committees, chains-of-command at all levels under the General Staff to enhance the direction on effectively and synchronously carrying out political education, ideological orientation, and on building and realizing the plan of organizing celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (1944-2024) and 35th anniversary of the Whole-people Defense Festive Day next year.

They were also requested to pay attention to Party building, Party member management and education, raising troops’ vigilance, holding year-end conferences on Party and political work.
