The central report and opinions given at the meeting agreed that in the first half of 2023, the military logistics sector closely followed the Central Military Commission’s resolution, defense-military missions, and directives on logistics affairs. Its timely suggestions helped ensure logistics supplies for routine and unscheduled training, combat readiness tasks of agencies and units. The living condition of the sector’s troops was secured, and the outcomes were seen in the adjustment of personnel and digital transformation of logistics work.

Speaking highly of the whole military’s achievements in logistics work, Gen. San urged the military logistics sector to continue providing logistics supplies for tasks, particularly those related to safeguarding national sovereignty over sea, islands, and border, protecting major areas, preventing diseases. He also asked for the good preparation of logistics services for important events and big festivals in the remaining time of the year and completion of all-level documents on logistics for combat.

The deputy defense minister requested the sector to promote its advisory role to help speed up the building of defensive areas, effective logistics posture, and prepare forces, vehicles, and other materials for disaster and disease prevention and control, search and rescue operations and international duties.

Enhancing digital transformation, expanding international cooperation, promoting thrift practice and anti-wastefulness, bringing into play emulation movements are among tasks that the sector were asked to focus on to achieve the sector’s targets in the whole year.

The same day, Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh chaired a meeting to review the technical services of the whole military in the first six months of 2023.

One of the outstanding results of the military technical sector in the reviewed period was ensuring equipment and technical services for training, combat readiness and other missions.

Attentively, many military units have promoted their activeness and pro-activeness in technical work. Particularly, troops of the Air Defense - Air Force Service effectively repaired air defense materiel, ensure technical services for flights, and more. Meanwhile technical services were also ensured for thousands of ships under the Naval Service. In addition, the Signal Corps ensured smooth communication for tasks in a timely manner.

In his concluding speech, Gen. Vinh asked agencies and units in the military to continue to ensure good quality of materiel for units to carry out their combat readiness, training, exercises, search and rescue missions. He requested them to speed up the progress of projects and plans on technical services; improve the quality of repairing weapons and technical equipment; organize competitions effectively and practically; keep depots and workshops safe in harsh weather conditions; and further apply achievements of the fourth Industrial Revolution to technical work, among others.
