Wounded soldiers received gifts

On July 19, a mission of the Trade Union chapter of the Ministry of National Defense visited and presented gifts to the staff and wounded and sick soldiers under treatment at Convalescent Centers for Wounded Soldiers in Ha Nam province’s Duy Tien district and Bac Ninh province’s Thuan Thanh district.

During the visit, Senior Colonel Nguyen Van De, head delegate inquired after the former soldiers’ health and encouraged them to overcome difficulties and set bright examples for their children to follow. He emphasized that the gifts demonstrate the sentiment and gratitude of members of the Trade Union chapter to wounded and sick soldiers.

At present, the Duy Tien Convalescent Center cares for 60 wounded and sick soldiers, while the Thuan Thanh Convalescent Center is responsible around 100 sick and wounded soldiers.

On the same day, the Political Department of the General Staff held a meeting with wounded soldiers and children of fallen soldiers and wounded soldiers. A representative of the department extended warm regards to the participants and stressed that the department will soon make recommendations for higher level to organize more practical activities helping defense workers, young Trade Union members with illness and policy beneficiaries improve their living standards.

Meanwhile, the Quang Ngai and Thai Binh provincial Military Commands held gratitude activities. Quang Ngai’s Military Command handed over a gratitude house to Nguyen Thi Nam, a relative of martyr Mai Cu, while Thai Binh’s unit provided free health checkups and medicines to needy policy beneficiaries in Vu Thu district’s Vu Vinh commune and Kien Xuong district’s Quang Lich commune.
