Meanwhile, other delegations also offered incense and laid wreaths at Ben Duoc Temple in Cu Chi district, the Monument of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Thi Ranh in Trai Den village, Phuong Hiep commune, Cu Chi district.

* On the occasion of the 71st Vietnam Wounded Soldiers' and Martyrs' Day (July 27), the Ministry of National Defense and military units spent more than VND 22 billion repairing 326 gratitude houses for policy beneficiaries and national contributors. The Central Military Commission presented gifts, worth VND 5,4 billion to 5,400 wounded soldiers at convalescent centers, martyrs' relatives, and national contributors across the country. The ministry also donated VND 380 million to support 14 families of soldiers killed or injured in action. The whole military is supporting 1,922 Vietnamese heroic mothers. Over the past days, military units have also visited and presented gifts, worth more than VND 41 billion, to 15,000 national contributors, provided free health check-ups and medicines to nearly 52,000 needy people, and repaired and upgraded war cemeteries throughout the country.

* The Khanh Hoa provincial People Committee on July 27 held a ceremony to present the title “Hero of the People's Armed Forces” to four fallen soldiers and the title "Vietnamese Heroic Mother" to 35 mothers. Since 1994, 974 mothers in the province have been awarded with the "Vietnamese Heroic Mother" title.

* The Military Youth Board, in association with the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union chapter and local authorities, started the construction of five gratitude houses, presented five savings books and 289 gifts to policy families and national contributors in Quang Tri province. Besides, the unit also provided free health check-ups to more than 500 national contributors in Hai Lang district, organized an artistic program and offered flowers and incense to heroic martyrs at the Truong Son National Martyrs’ Cemetery.

* The Vietnam Border Guard Command held a meeting to gather and present gifts to wounded soldiers’ and martyrs’ relatives who are working at the unit. Over the past years, units under the Border Guard Command have mobilized tens of billions of VND for the gratitude fund, which has been used to build hundreds of gratitude houses for national contributors.

* The Vietnam Naval Academy raised nearly VND 350 million for its gratitude fund, visited and presented gifts, worth more than VND 30 million, to two heroes of the People's Armed Forces, eight Vietnamese heroic mothers, 91 families of national contributors in the locality where the unit is stationed. In addition, the academy also provided free health check-ups and medicines to 70 local people at the total cost of VND 7 million, presented 20 gifts to policy families and offered incense and paid tribute to heroic martyrs of the no-number ships.

* A delegation of the Military Technical Academy visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers at the convalescent centers in Bac Ninh and Ha Nam provinces. The unit cooperated with Military Central Hospital 108 to provide free health check-ups for relatives of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin (VAVA) in Xuan Dinh ward, Bac Tu Liem district, Hanoi. On this occasion, the academy also collaborated with the local Youth Union chapter to offer incense at the War Cemetery.

* Leaders of Company 715 under Army Corps 15, on July 27, visited and presented Uncle Ho statues, chairs, loudspeakers to the People's Committee of la O commune, la Grai district, Gia Lai province. The unit also gave 186 gifts, worth more than VND 30 million, to national contributors and provided free health check-ups to 300 national contributors and local people.

* The Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Sa Thay district, Kon Tum province, held a reburial ceremony for 21 martyrs. At present, the Kon Tum provincial Military Command is actively coordinating with military units in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces to verify information, names and units of the martyrs.

* The liaison board of the heroic Capital Regiment (Regiment 102) under Division 308 of Army Corps 1 held a ceremony to pay tribute to heroic martyrs in Hanoi. The event saw the participation of nearly 200 veterans, wounded and sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs, national contributors, Buddhist dignitaries and followers and citizens. At the event, delegates paid tribute to heroic martyrs, recalled the heroic tradition of the military and people in Hanoi during 60 days and nights defending the capital.
