The art festival is part of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole People’s Defense Festive Day, the 49th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, and the 138th anniversary of the International Labor Day.

Speaking at the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet underlined that the festival showed the strong will and determination in implementing mass art and culture movements of the armed forces, contributing to popularizing to the people and troops across the country about the military-civilian ties; glorious traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army over the past 80 years of building, fighting, and growth; traditions of the Vietnam People’s Public Security force; synergy in the cause of national construction and protection; and the cultural beauty of Vietnamese young people and students in the Ho Chi Minh era, to name but a few.

The songs and art performances have been carefully prepared, vividly reflecting the lives of troops in studying, working, training and combat readiness, contributing to spotlighting the good virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, arousing patriotism among troops, youths and students, and promoting the “All people stay united to build cultural life" movement.

The event sees the participation of 927 artists from 24 mass art troupes. It will last until April 14.
