On this occasion, the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command also launched the annual tree-planting festival. Over the years, tree planting has been widely embraced across the provincial border guard forces, yielding significant results. Efforts in forest protection and development have been actively promoted by various units, contributing positively to environmental conservation and socio-economic growth.
Each year, the unit coordinates with local Party committees and authorities to organize tree-planting events within military barracks, along rural roads, border patrol routes, and in forested areas near the border region.

“We will continue raising awareness among officers, soldiers, and local people of the vital role, profound significance, and humanitarian value of afforestation, forest protection, and environmental conservation. Our goal is to turn this initiative into a widespread movement across the military and society. Based on local conditions, units will select suitable planting areas, tree species, and appropriate quantities to ensure both immediate and long-term benefits,” stated Senior Colonel Huynh Van Dong, Political Commissar of the Kien Giang provincial Border Guard Command.
