Reports at the event revealed that in April, under the direction of the GS, the whole military strictly maintained combat readiness status; closely followed situational developments, thus promptly making recommendations to effectively handle situations in a timely manner; and coordinated with other forces to maintain security and public order across the country.

Units conducted training and successfully organized military parade in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025), ensuring safety and quality, leaving a strong impression on the people and international friends.

In addition, forces effectively conducted patrols to prevent illegal entry and exit in land and sea border areas; increased patrols to drive off and prevent foreign vessels from encroaching on Vietnam’s waters. Training, drills, competitions, and sports activities were organized as planned.

Addressing the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised the outstanding achievements obtained by the agencies and units in April. He requested the whole military to strictly maintain combat readiness, closely follow situational developments to give timely recommendations to promptly handle circumstances, and enhance coordination with police forces to safeguard national security and public order, strictly apply measures to ensure aviation safety, well manage the operations of unmanned aerial vehicles and other flying objects, strengthen monitoring of cyberspace to ensure timely and secure communication and cryptographic systems.

He urged agencies and units to continue conducting training, drills, and defense competitions in accordance with approved plans; organize technical training; strictly observe discipline and regulations; ensure traffic safety. 

Units were also required to remain on high alert for search and rescue missions at all levels and pro-actively grasp the situation to give timely advice to effectively respond to incidents or natural disasters; organize fire prevention competitions; continue to prepare for the search and rescue drill in 2025; and enhance international cooperation in civil defense.

The GS’s Chief also emphasized the need to enhance the direction of the implementation of the mission of managing and monitoring developments in cyberspace and following national and military information to promptly detect and respond to threats.
